After reading this I am kind of surprised I wasn’t able to angle some scholarship or something despite my terrible grades. I was hot shit in quiz-bowl in the late 90s in my state.

My high school team was basically me and a bunch of my friends who were mostly there for moral support or because I was screwing them. I think I answered 95% of our questions, I would maybe defer to them a classical music one, or have them double check my math.
It is sort of 6 of one half a dozen of the other. It depends on who you think the audience is. If the audience is meant to be random dumb schlubs, then yeah it is accurate. On the other hand, if the audience is meant to be everyone then it is more than a little belittling to most of the engineers and doctors out…
That doesn’t make for as exciting a story though does it?
Everything is a part of someone’s heritage...
I have known a few dozen professional athletes , and a decent percentage of them are legitimately crazy hyper competitive a-holes whose priorities in life are totally messed up. Some are also pretty normal guys, but it is not common, most have at least one screw loose.
??? It is not even close to the most competite league in sports for the simple fact that height is so important. There are people who can barely play basketball who make the NBA. The skill level is really uneven compared to most major sports because height is like 40% of the game.
“If you’re a big Iverson fan”
“What is the correct age/life situation during which to retire from rec-league softball? (Assume the bottom-of-the-barrel, talent-lacking, one-game-a-week type of softball.) I’m the oldest guy on the team (34), married, have a 1-year-old baby, am out-of-shape, and have back problems. All the other players are younger,…
That was also 10,000 years ago and people had not discovered farming. In 10,000 years we will likely have the solar system colonized and who knows what technology, some sea level rise will a) likely be engineered away before then, and b) not be a big deal with the technology we have then.
Without a change they will increase that much over thousands of years from thermal expansion of the ocean. But that is the problem with this type of scare mongering, it is all out of proportion with human timescales. Melting is only going to raise sea levels a few feet over hundreds of years.
One of my good friends is 6’7” and my bosses husband is 6’6”. What is your point? Literally every other person I interact with on a regular basis is shorter than those two.
Or he grew up on the internet so he is adding 3” to his height and sees everyone else lying too. I love the articles where you have these dude-bros claiming 5’11” is “short” and that most people they know are over 6’0”, which is frankly not true anywhere in the US.
Its frankly a lot less silly than belief in an all knowing and loving sky father, and that belief spans over half the globe.
Any time you need to appear for minor administrative dates like this in court show up with a notebook full of notes. Look EXTREMELY prepared, but be polite and civil. The judge won’t want to sit through your defense and will let you off.
This is the work of a crazy person, and I mean that in the nicest possible way.
WTF is he doing?
Because they are mostly idiots.
Umm but that the way the contract is written. If the player wants less money and more guarantee teams will usually oblige.
I flew with my child at 9 months, 14, 16, 18, and 21. You know what you do, use your fucking brain. Bring things the child likes, play games it enjoys, give it attention, have food ready, if normally you only feed it 24 ounces a day, but breaking that rules and going with 40 this day will keep it happy DO THAT.
