There are gems all throughout the Very Special Christmas series, but this is still my favorite.

There’s no precision in volume measurements for baking, so you’re going to end up playing it by ear to some extent even if you’ve written everything down. Then there’s altitude adjustments, humidity...

I prefer Xanax.

I’m about 4 hours in to Persona 5, and so far it’s not so much a game as a reason to hit the X button a few hundred times.

They’re fed organic stuff, so no pesticides.

I think the recommendation is level 30 — I entered in the low 40s and had a slightly easier time with it (on normal) than I did with the main quest. You have to have completed “A Seeker at the Gates” in the main game order to start The Frozen Wilds.

Been taking my sweet time with The Frozen Wilds. Did a mission with a guy that I cynically assumed was going to stab me in the back at any second, and he turned out to be completely genuine. Felt weirdly fresh.

Soul Calibur VI: Particle Effects

Superman killing Zod....

It isn’t a double standard so much as it’s having standards.

You might have a Mass effect.

I just made some last hour. Started with hot tap water at 5:25 and shrimp was done and perfect at 6. Didn’t have to watch it, didn’t have to cook in batches.

Counterpoint: The sous vide shrimp come out great in a half hour directly from frozen, and it’s dead simple to make as little or as much as you want. Give it a shot.

Complexity? Seal in bag with stuff and toss in water. Wait. Eat.

I realize the conflict with “alarm” is probably unavoidable, but you could set a nickname that would be easier to say than “home security system.” Or set a shortcut with some phrase you’ll remember. “Hey Google — shields up!” would be good and nerdy.

The developers damn near read my mind. About the time I was seriously wondering whether Yen even liked me, Vesemir tells me about her throwing that perfectly good bed out the window.

It’s a now a family tradition to see new movies on the first showing Saturday morning. My wife, daughter and I can watch spoiler-free flicks for about $16. Total. With reserved seating. Add in a nice lunch afterward and it’s still cheaper than three full-price tickets for Friday night.

Oh my god, I had this.

Oh yeah — and this shouldn’t, but it gets to me every single time.

I was flipping channels some lazy Sunday afternoon and this stopped me cold in my tracks.

Charlie’s in the light! Charlie’s in the light!
