Oooh, A. Bertram Chandler...! Yes, he can be hard to find, but most of what I've seen of him makes it worth the effort. I could get some of the 'John Grimes' novels only as used hardcovers on Amazon, but then that was all the summer reading I needed 3 or 4 summers ago.

And I have to agree, that's another possible explanation for what happened: after so many years of war killing another few hundred thousand people just didn't register as a big deal any longer, sadly enough.
