I still have in mind though, that these devs lied to their fan and backer base by promising an offline mode and then breaking up with the promise just recently. Not going to get this anytime soon, if I'd have a crush for lying game companies, I'd stick with the original and buy an EA game.

So killing all those Fireflies and the doctor to save the life of Ellie was worth it?

I love The Walking Dead, but I prefer The Last of Us and 28 Days Later for their "somewhat more scientifically plausible" zombie apocalypse.

That requires a constant internet connection. Useless.

I think people have a right to be mad if they were promised an offline mode, then had that taken away right before launch but can't get a refund.

Yeah, that doesn't work since we still had and still have games that don't require you to be always online to play a single-player mode. But nice try.

and can be shut down if doesn't sell well enough, and you can have it taken away from you by the publisher.

So Elite: Dangerous will require an Internet connection, in a similar fashion to games likeDiablo III on PC and SimCity (for a while).

Though I realize you're essentially saying the change doesn't affect you much, you do realize they could do all of that patching even with an offline mode? Single player offline could be patched. Online could have patches AND server side fixes. You can either download the patch as an installer, or you connect when you

"We still intended to do it right up to release," he said. "That's why we delayed the announcement for so long. But we finally decided to bite the bullet and say no."

Back when Braben and co first announced that offline mode wasn't gonna make the cut, they only offered refunds to people who hadn't spent a significant amount of time playing Elite's alpha or beta. They were worried, Braben told me, that people might take advantage of the system if they offered refunds to

If you backed it, angry. They still sold the Kickstarter on having the offline mode in the game, and then yanked it at the last minute. It's bullshit, and they absolutely deserve all the bad press and criticism they're getting for it.

Everyone's treating this game like the coming of a messiah. I think it looks really cool, but what's with the absurd amount of hype for it?

Terrible film, criminally unoriginal. The most overrated science fiction film ever made.

Thank God no Nolan films on this list.

you have to remember that every year they release a whole new game in a completely new setting with completely new characters

They did a new IP, Watch Dogs. It was really boring.
