I hope PRISM is taking some names.

Is any of this surprising? Fish has always had issues dealing with criticism and negativity. Sure, Beer baited him and was being a dick, but Fish responded in classic Fish fashion; totally blowing things out of proportion and acting like a child.
God yes. This is perfect.
That rock you live under must be really comfortable, because you sure haven't come out from under it in a while.
Yeah MOBA is pretty awful way of describing the genre.
The MOBA genre did not start as a WarCraft III Mod. It was a StarCraft map that was copied my various other map-makers, and eventually gained popularity with another map in WarCraft III, called Defense of the Ancients.
"So there's the sun, really awesome, that means it's daytime"
You're taking an incredibly childish and binary view on video game piracy and emulation. Why can't people just not steal games? Because people can steal games. That's like asking, "why do people steal cars?". There isn't one answer to that question, so it's kind of a pointless question.
Steam's got it for sale right now. I definitely could go for some agriculture.
I sort of entirely disagree with all of this. Have you ever seen a competitive Pokemon TCG tournament? It get's real there. I don't think it's a problem the company has with the image of competitive gaming, but probably something to do with licensing issues.
Yeah, exactly.
Is there anyone else out there who thinks that this is both a horrendous over-reaction, and completely unsurprising? I totally understand him getting arrested for saying something like that given the political / social climate in the States right now. He was clearly being sarcastic, but would you say you were going to…
I used to sit next to a girl at work who grew up in Croatia, and she said Dubrovnik was a pretty big tourist city for a lot of Eastern Bloc people. It's been quite popular for a while, but now that GoT has been relying on it's beauty to hard it's going to be inundated with 'mericans looking for Sean Bean's head.
Im-pres-io-an-ate.
I'd rather they get the game set in stone, announce it, then have it in our hands less than a year later. I think that's what Valve wants too. Being able to just focus on developing the game, rather than marketing it makes a huge difference.
You have to consider that when it came out, there was nothing on par with it. It was literally a revelation in game design. The way you progressed through the world felt so natural. It was a corridor shooter that never felt remotely like a corridor shooter. The story progressed at a natural pace, and the world felt…
We're not talking about back then. We're talking about today. You can try to compare a game that came out last week with a game that came out before the berlin wall came down, but those games were developed at different points in history with different markets / goals in mind. The comparisons won't really mean much.
What game would you call the best platformer on the market? There aren't many out there anymore.
All games back then were more challenging. Making a game more difficult meant you didn't have to create as much content for it, or could make the content you already had last longer. Challenge ≠ Quality.
Like some others have pointed out, this is probably a left over from the localization of the original game, where these characters were converted to Females rather than effeminate Males. NOA has always had rather interesting opinions of gamers in the West.
