Yeah the art was really good. But I have to admit, the writing was pretty brutal. Particularly during the battle between the two rocket grunts and bill. Pretty horrible.
You'd be right if Maxis wasn't owned by EA.
Also this is the kind of bug that would pop up in an Alpha or Beta build of the game, not something you'd find in a major patch, let a lone the third major patch for a game post-retail.
I'm definitely not. They're probably incredibly busy over there working on DOTA2, CS:GO, TF2. They also released L4D and L4D2 very close to each other. I think it's smart for them to let the brand rest for a while before reviving it. It's not like they need money or anything.
How do you propose that creatives make a living then? I'm not talking about people who work for major companies and get a salary, but the people who make their living based on how much they can sell.
The gain is a creative one, rather than a financial one. For many gamers, risking their money on a game that fits what they want to play is well worth it. It also allows companies like Obsidian to build games that gamers want to play, rather than games that publishers want to sell.
That is literally still happening today. Today's music industry is still structured almost the exact same way as it was when people still bought CDs. Only now, Apple takes a cut as well.
I don't understand why one of the two has to be rescued? Can't Zelda just have her own adventure that doesn't involve Link?
I don't think backwards compatibility has anything to do with controllers. When Sony removed PS2 compatibility from their PS3, it was a financial decision, as they had to jam in a bunch of PS2 guts to get PS2 games to run. Doing a purely software PS2 emulation is a bitch, because PS2's architecture was so fucked.
I never did play that, but I always wanted to. Sierra always had pretty good isometric graphics in their city builders.
I'd say the only one of those newer games in that list that's actually isometric is Bastion. In order for the graphics to be isometric, objects in the distance can't be smaller than objects closer to the camera, and since most of those are 3D games that don't try to replicate an isometric camera, they're just 3D games…
We all know some awesome people are going to mod this game so it's possible to play in a solo region. It's just a matter of time. So I don't get why Maxis doesn't just bite the bullet and admit that people want solo play and give it to players.
I like how everyone is crapping them selves because someone made a pretty comical mod. It's a fairly funny role reversal, and I don't get why gamers are threatened by this. I'd bet a reasonable bit of money that most of these guys crying about this mod wouldn't bat an eye at a nude mod for many modern games, and I…
Just... release some games that people will actually want to purchase and people will buy your system. Also, Nintendo's gotta court some third parties to develop some Wii U exclusives. Ports just don't work when it comes to unique control schemes like this.
I know a few console gamers personally who buy higher end controllers for their fighting games to get an edge online. One guy even purchased an adaptor to use their mouse and keyboard with their Xbox. And there are definitely ways to set up macros on a console as well. The truth is, you will find people taking these…
"Defense of the Ancients (DotA) is a multiplayer online battle arena mod for the video game Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its expansion, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, based on the "Aeon of Strife" map for StarCraft."
If anyone calls Golf a sport, than Football (yes, because it's actually played with one's feet) is indeed also a sport.
If there are any problems at all, it's things like
I love how everyone is saying he's trashing Ameritrash, or that he's saying they're bad games. He's not. He says, quite specifically "The above are all great games". The review site he runs has even reviewed some of these games, and favourably. All he's saying here is that if you're interested in getting deeper into…
Eclipse allows for 9 players. It's got a learning curve to be sure, but nothing too ridiculous. Bang is a fun (if kind of ridiculous) game that allows for 7. Zombie Dice can be played with any number of people, but it's more of a quick game to play while everyone is showing up, or to decide who goes first in another…
