So is this basically a modern Myst?

This actually makes me want to cry.
This is the first thing that's ever made me want to play the Phoenix Wright games.
Maybe he could use the proceeds to buy the Washington Redskins.
Unfortunately, it's an excuse that most people accept.
While I disagree with you on some of the details re: late colonialism, you are so spot on here. Christianity has been used as agency for colonial control and as a justification for feudalism, autocracy, etc. since back in Roman times, but somehow those in power always manage to find more victims for their hateful…
How do Happy Meal toys work? Does the company pay McDonalds to run the promotion (because it's obviously great marketing for them)? Is it simply an agreement, with the company providing the toys (since McDonalds gets the bump in Happy Meal sales from a good promotion)? Does McDonalds pay the company to license the…
Oh, I know about it. But I didn't have it - was a little too young - and have only seen bits and pieces of it. May have to track it down.
Congrats! That's the best way those things can turn out, and a rare one.
I wish the people who say that LinkedIn is worthless would read this. Yea, it CAN be worthless, if you don't put any time or effort into it. But it can very definitely provide true value over both the short and long term.
I feel like it does pretty well at #3, actually... mostly through the "Other People Also Viewed..." section. I find that tends to be a list of my counterparts in other companies, my colleagues, and my real-life friends.

I agree that that's when the trend started, but it's not because of the N64 (although the cartridge format didn't help). It's because of the SNES and NES. Nintendo had notoriously bad developer relations - they were extremely demanding in terms of their license fees, volume minimums, requirements to manufacture carts…
A compromise means everybody gets most of what they want.
So they crashed an exclusive party with exclusionary rules. Sounds fair to me.
Criminal trespass on public streets?
So it's sexist and ageist too. Great.
About a year or two ago, when a friend ran the NYC half marathon, I learned that you have to pay to run in the marathon, and that not everybody gets to do this. This upset me in the extreme, and still does. I had always thought it was a public event - after all, they shut down half the damn city - that anyone who…
Yea, that's about bare minimum for the interesting parts of Brooklyn. I just absolutely don't understand how people do it unless they come from money, especially since most people evidently buy an apt in their 30s. That's a lot of cash to save up!
