Dark Souls does seem distinctly Japanese, but I'd say it's more in the sense of old Japanese-made arcade games and side-scrollers. Perhaps even old school Japanese CRPGs.

Oh, definitely. The very first CRPGs ended up being very similar in both countries, more as a matter of the technical constraints and the adaptation of table-top rules than anything. JRPGs just stayed true to the turn-based combat, as far as mechanics go, although obvious differences in culture started to emerge as…
Dragon's Dogma is a great game, too. I would love to see another one.
True. Even Wasteland had the prototypical JRPG combat style.
I can definitely agree with your critiques of Mass Effect and Bethesda games (though I think that New Vegas in particular is an excellent RPG for many reasons) but at least there's some level of interactivity with Shepard and blank-slate Bethesda protagonists. You're not just on rails fighting your way through a…
It's a Western-influenced, Japanese made RPG. It's pretty much the best of both worlds.
The Souls series and JRPGs like Final Fantasy hit two different spots. It's kind of apples and oranges. I think there's plenty of room for both.
I'm actually quite a responsable person
This is why you should never be trusted with a position of responsibility over any other person.
He just called you a hipster.
I did one day when I was stranded in Antarctica with nothing but a box of Fruit Loops and a full bladder. I learned then the hard way that Bear Grylls is a liar; there's more to survival than pissing on things and consuming them afterwards.
Me too, man. It's my favorite type of sub-genre. Fortunately we've got Cyberpunk 2077 coming up, which is not only being developed by one of the best gaming companies on the planet, it's a straight up ode to all of those 80's and 90's cyberpunk conceits.
I was joking too but you can see the logical extension of that idea. What cool stuff would you come up with if people were dicks to you in concerted effort? I doubt you'd care to find out.
Snatcher was a really cool game. It was fairly short but it had an excellent cyberpunk aesthetic and atmosphere. When I played it I considered it the companion game to Blade Runner, which has been my favorite film since the first time I saw it.
I take it he won't be bringing this to Kickstarter, or...?
Let me sleep on your couch for a week so I can be proud of pissing in your cereal every morning.
I'm still undecided on it, but to be fair I haven't had time to play it very much. I'm only at the part where you have to go to the lake.
Most importantly, you're saying that it doesn't matter if you can find a specific person to "fill the valency" or not, that it's the theme that matters.
That's right, just keep repeating yourself over and over again and ignoring almost the entirety of my posts even though I answered your question.
Yes, it does. I'm claiming that nobody else in the group had the influence to overcome Ralph. Since Ralph's solitary goal was survival until rescue, if nobody was standing against him, then that's exactly what would have happened. If you want to make this fantastical claim thatsomebody would have taken Jack's role as…
