I'm a "retired" homeschooling parent, and it's not that easy, believe me. We homeschooled as a private school and while we are as legal as any state-sponsored school, getting student discounts for software was very difficult, so you just can't say you are homeschooled.

I compost with redworms. No diapers needed.

I've been using a Toddy as a cold brewing system and have been very happy with it. I love the taste, and a batch makes about 7 cups of coffee concentrate that lasts me a couple of weeks. I see no reason to go back to regular brewed coffee.

When I was still using Windows, I used PaintShop Pro. I used versions 5, 7 and 9. It was a pretty good program. I'm using Gimp now, but I used PSP for many years. No dissing here.

I like the QR code option, and I've started including a QR code on every business card, either on the front or back, depending on space.

We got our son a dumbphone once he started being away from us for long stretches (about 15) so that he could always call for a ride if he needed one.

I like Kobo on my Android devices.

Slow cooker and pressure cooker? Interesting. My pressure cooker fits on my slow cooker base perfectly, and so I've used my pressure cooker as a slow cooker, but hadn't heard of a pot made for both.

I cook or fix all of our own meals most days. On occasion, we'll go out, but 90+% of the time, we eat what I fix.

I dunno. I found using a smart phone much easier to access calendar, texting and alarms, the typical dumbphone shiny apps.

By way of the digital superhighway. Most of my work is online.

I love keyboard commands. I do not use them to their fullest extent, but where I do use them, it's da bomb. I have Vimperator on my FF browser, and I am always learning new keyboard commands for Gimp as I go along.

I remember when I started driving my car to high school. I always parked in this one particular slot. One morning, I was later than usual, and my favorite slot and all those around it were taken. I had to park far away from my usual area. When school let out, I did have to wait for most of the cars to leave. Felt

I'm really glad you mentioned the train. A few years ago, we got a sleeper berth from our location to 3/4 across the country. We were happily surprised to find out that our sleeper accommodations granted us access to the first class lounges where we found snacks, sodas, coffee, comfortable chairs, clean bathrooms, and

At our house, we call them "Shiny things with blinky lights". ;-)

One of the risks you take with consignment is that since you and not the owner of the store owns your merchandise, they are less motivated to protect it. A lot of my soapmaker friends have tried consignment for their handcrafted soap and have found this to be true. The wrapping becomes disheveled, inventory gets lost

I think it was 1992-3. It was a custom built 486 66mhz with a mind blowing 4mb RAM (most other computers had only 1-2mb RAM) and a 250mb hard drive. It had that newfangled Win 3.1, and the computer and printer cost about $2500. It had a CD ROM in it that was still a pretty new idea, plus both the 5 1/4" & 3 1/2 inch

A sandwich that for some reason gets tipped onto its side tends to leak unless it's very dry. It's also easy to get a sandwich mashed in the day to day workings of life up till lunch. I'd rather keep a sandwich in a Rubbermaid/Tupperware/Bento container. I just wouldn't choose this method to tote my sandwich for ~4

Um,. . .I dunno. I can sew just fine, and I could easily make something like this, but I wouldn't choose to make a "sandwich wrapper" like this. Food gets messy inside, and it would be difficult to keep it clean and looking clean. Perhaps I'd make a bag or wrapper to hold my bento/plastic containers for a lunch carry,

That hario is a beautiful pot, I'll admit!
