Because the ads are intrusive and in my personal space! I don't want them, and so I should be able to remove them. How about you walk to your refrigerator and have ads pop out of there, suggesting meat if you're a vegetarian, or junk food if you are a slow food, natural-only foodie.
Were you a Sysop? Which forum? I sysopped the Homeschooling forums way back when. Those were good days. Now when I go back, I hang out in the Linux Users Forum.
Don't tell anyone, but I liked that too. Defrag is no fun anymore. ;-)
This is one of the reasons why I moved to linux. Yes, I use the GUI plenty, but I like the feel of using the command line if I want/need to. That, and the fact that the OS is mine. If I know how to do it, can change what I want without breaking a EULA.
I loved the ascii interface on CompuServe, but also liked OzWin, and other offline readers. Back then CompuServe was filled with intelligent, thinking people and topics of conversation.
I just got mylastname.com! It had been sat on for quite a while, and when I read this thread, I did a whois for it, found it had been vacated, and grabbed it up. I may have some nieces and nephews that might hate me for it, but at least it's in the family now.
Any pile of biodegradable material will eventually break down into a compost. If you pile up your vegetable trimmings, food leftovers, straw and so forth, and keep them moist, you'll make compost. If you add worms to this arrangement, the material will break down faster. See my instructions at:
Yeah, I'll give Godzilla a call to have him do this for me. There's no way I'd be strong enough to do that.
I wouldn't bother making cold-brewed coffee in my hotel room, but in general, cold brewed coffee is wonderful! My Mr. Coffee just died and we replaced it with a Toddy cold-brewed coffee maker.
Been there, done that.
I agree, and out loud, specifically. Get your mouth used to saying the words you will use. Get your ears used to hearing them.
Would love to know how to make neighbor's dog stop barking. . . .
Yes. One of the most wonderful things in the world is the access of the library through the internet. I can choose books, renew and like you, have books I want shipped to any local library I designate.
I have some small weights, some exercise videos, and a couple of machines. I find it infinitely easier to work out at home than going to a gym.
If they want to text, get them a phone with a hardware QWERTY keyboard, if they still exist. A hardware keyboard is way easier to use than a software keyboard. I have found that an Android phone has been easier to teach to use than an iPhone, and recently, I've been teaching a lot of newcomers (grandmas & grandpas)…
I have no problem with a sales person that has helped me well getting a commission from the sale.
I have a DasKeyboard silent, and love it! Anybody who spends the bulk of their days on a computer should have a great keyboard like this!
Um, no.
I agree. Cook beans separately. Salt in the chili makes the beans tough, anyway, and either takes forever to get them done, or makes it impossible to do so.
