I use Caroll Shelby's Texas Chili mix. I use salsa for the tomato sauce, and add Yves soy "ground beef" for the meaty texture. The other deviation is that I'll add 1/4 cup of olive oil to it. When that's ready, I'll put my beans in, which have been cooked separately in the pressure cooker.

I like a plain banana by itself, but I hate them in smoothies. Just last week I bought some chia seeds to both thicken my smoothies and for sprouting. I look forward to trying it out.

Yes, you can boil veggie peelings, use the broth for yourself, then feed the residue to the worms.

Agree 100%!

My grandmother was the one that taught me to cook, but especially using a pressure cooker when I was about 16. Then she bought me one. I've been using one ever since.

What a mom!!

I used Paint Shop Pro versions 5, 7, and 9 for years. I liked it very well. But I wanted to leave the Windows world, and that meant using Gimp. I found some things in Paint Shop Pro better, but I was surprised by finding other things in Gimp to be clearly superior. For example, I never could get smooth, non-speckly

I learned to hand code html from the beginning. While people were singing and dancing about how great Dreamweaver is (and I have no doubt it's pretty good - my Webmaster brother is a Dreamweaver groupie), I just clunked along with HomeSite (which is the code window used in Dreamweaver). When I migrated to Linux, I

For tools I frequently use, I'm getting very used to using keyboard commands. I still need the mouse to click and drag, but, using the keyboard bypasses 'how the menus are arranged'. Keyboard commands are fast, too.

Especially in light of these events, I'm very glad that in the past few years, I've been learning how to use Gimp.

I don't know why I should feel bad or guilty if I enjoy being alone. I'm an introvert, we roll that way. I prefer burying myself in a project and then coming out to deal with the world when I'm done.

Separate offices here, too. We work totally differently.

Linux user here, too. Circa WinXP I very carefully, and diligently, worked to extricate myself from Windows. Everything in my life runs through my computer in some way, so it took me a couple of years to try out all of the software I would need on a secondary computer (Web Design, Graphics Design, etc.), and ramp it

I do. I run linux-only on 2 desktops and 1 laptop and do very well.

Sorry, but I hate Miracle Whip with a passion. And as for using it to brown a grilled cheese sandwich, I've tried it, and it's the worst thing possible to use. Miracle Whip has a high sugar content, which causes the sandwich to bond with the griddle, making it nearly impossible to remove. The sugar content also causes

It's actually good. Tastewise, I prefer it. Give it a shot.

I prefer mayonnaise instead of using butter. Mayonnaise browns much better, and more evenly. It's also less apt to burn.

Why do you need a "creative" way to propose? Women have been known to respond to a personal, sincere proposal. Don't get too deep into the need to be creative.

I have many skills. I can sew, build a computer, build a website and teach reading. But the one skill I'm very, very grateful for, is knowing how to cook. I learned to cook very young, and I learned early about keeping the cupboards stocked with essentials, and investing very good cookware. Going out to eat is very

I dunno. Speaking as a long time vermicomposter (composting with earthworms), the sugars in that "cold compost" could cause the soil to heat up and burn those nice plants you think you are feeding. Better to compost it away from the garden to avoid that scenario.
