I prefer a roasting chicken to turkey, anyway. A roasting chicken is a very large, meaty young chicken (don't get a stewing chicken!). More tender, more moist than a turkey. 2 roasting chickens would make a divine dinner any time of the year for an extended family group.

I have a very small kitchen, but I have a nice 30" W I D E cutting board that lives in a slot underneath my oven, which puts it about waist high. I love my chopping board and it is constantly in use, but if I need more counter space or another chopping area, I can put a chopping board over my sink, as well. I place it

I'm a refugee from Palm Pre, too. Loved it, until Google Maps stopped working, and there were no apps to be had for routine things. I had intended to get a Bionic (hoping that the price would lower when the Razr came out), but succumbed to the "First Day Hype" and I bought a Razr yesterday.

Me, too. I just bought my first Android phone (Droid Razr). I fell into something I've never done before, and that's "Opening Day Hype". I've always been a Palm person, but Palm is gone, and HP has dropped the ball. Android it is, then.

Nice, but they are offered for only a limited number of cities.

I have a pretty good sense of direction, but when I'm in a new place, I think the best thing ever invented was Google Maps, whether looking up online from my desktop, or using it from my phone. I do like a regular paper map at times, but I always have my phone with me, and paper maps are going the way of the Dodo bird.

I can't think of a better solution.

$111 is the price if you don't already have a contract with Verizon. If you do, it's $299.

The Grid-It thingy looks like a wonderful gizmo. I'll put it on my list of things to have. But instead of the touch screen sensitive gloves, I prefer BumGloves They really do keep your hands warm, but leave your fingertips free and available for screen work and handling paper. These come and go as far as availability,

At our house his 'n' hers workspaces means separate offices. Too much gear to put in one space.

I cook every day. I generally cook 3-4 things in big batches and freeze the leftovers and reheat throughout the week. My gadgets speed things up so I'm not a slave to cooking.

I'm kind of wondering the same. . .although I did find this webpage that suggests some by name.

Smartest person in the bunch! If you really like fancy coffee, this is the way to go!

Remember: "the cloud" is just another fancy way of saying "a bunch of computers and hard drives somewhere other than in your house".

Thx for the suggestions.

I have several strategies for reinstalling the OS. I'm a 100% linux user, and I have several kinds of backups. I keep a backup of my /home directory, I keep a separate backup of my email program (Evolution) data, and linux also has a handy program called "Installed-Software". You run it and it makes a script of every

Very likely to be Black Soldier Flies. They're generally harmless to a compost pile, and the flies are harmless, too. If, though, you are vermicomposting (worm composting), they are an indication that your compost pile might be fermenting and getting sour. In that case, add some more leaves, sawdust or other absorbent

I have *3* pairs of kitchen shears that are constantly in use. I use them to cut up chicken, snip herbs, and many other jobs, including package opening, but I'd never consider using them to cut up tomatoes. Sounds like that would lead to a mushy mess.
