I work from home. I don't dress up unless I plan to meet with a client. Right now, I'm wearing shorts and a T-Shirt and I am barefoot. I just worked 4 straight hours and got a lot done.
@dmccall:Lime is a traditional Mexican ingredient in many things, but I agree, leave the lime OUT.
@labyrinthine is a kickass philanthropist: OK, I appreciate you're insider information, but I've noticed that nearly all customer service people ask for my name and regularly use it during a conversation.
I agree that being polite is important. There's little reason to yell/scream 4 letter words just to get something returned. It says a lot about who *we* are.
@sideshow: If they are asking mind trick questions in an interview, chances are they'll play mind tricks when you work for them<<
@AnneV6: I use a big magnet for a "pincushion" at my sewing table, as well. Easy to pick up pins using it, just wave the "pincushion" over a pile of pins, and they're automatically picked up.
@Lauram: Yep. I have a very nice set of waterless stainless steel cookware, but I LOVE my cast iron frying pan, and wouldn't mind having a cast iron dutch oven. Cast iron is easy to cook in, and very nearly indestructable and that can't be beat.
I've been using the "melt ice into water" method for several years. Saves me from lugging gallons of water into an upstairs motel room.
I get the option of choosing my own operating system, and about a year ago, I went Linux. I love the multiple desktops. I keep 4 and each desktop has its own purpose. I routinely have to keep many programs open during my work day, switching back and forth, and it simplifies everything.
I love the LEGO option, and the catprop, but I'll put in a note to say that the Eee also sits well in the Fellowes book prop, opened to it's maximum. I have read many a book that way.
Yes, I can use an oven mitt, a fork or a backscratcher, but a sturdy oven stick is a great tool. A heavy pan in the oven is more difficult to pull out/push in and an oven stick does a better job with fewer spills.
@Col. Mustard: Yeah +1 for the Mr. Bento.
Instead of a teabag, try a small hand of stove pellets. When moisture hits them, they break down into sawdust and will absorb any moisture. We used to use stove pellets for cat litter and it killed the smell.
@JerryA: I can't imagine giving up my desktop. I want my data right here, on my local hard drive. It'll be a hot day on Rura Penthe before I give it up.
@FalconFour: 1) Because I'm short. No ATM drive through is positioned so that I can easily do my business from the car window. 2) because many times, there is only a kiosk atm for my banking business, no actual bank building. 3) because I don't feel like I'm obligated to use the banking option YOU prefer me to use. I…
@FalconFour: I don't see what the problem is. I'm afraid I will continue to pollute your life. . .
Re: ATM drive thrus - I always just park a little bit away and forward, put the car in park (even turn it off if necessary), and get out of the car to do my banking business. It saves all the awkward reaching stopping, starting, repositioning, etc.
I can't imagine cutting up a book cover like this. If I liked a book enough to read (several times) I wouldn't want to cut the cover off. If I disliked a book, I can't imagine ever wanting to use it as a postcard. In addition, books are precious, so I wouldn't show such a lack of respect to a book like that.
I'm glad that someone thought of this! I'd been thinking the same thing for the past couple of years, and especially more so now as the fees/restrictions/etc. continue to escalate.
