It’s just a ballista. No biggie. Bard killed Smaug with a regular bow, though he did have a McGuffin arrow. Maybe these fire those too.

  • For me, controlling an empire comes down to a few things: ensuring a healthy flow of new money each turn (early on, that’s at least a few thousand per turn. It varies game to game though, but if I ever saw less than 3,000 I’d know I was doing something wrong) and solidifying ~3/4 of your borders with friendship so

What are you having trouble with? The strategic part or the battle part?

CA’s first TW game, the original Shogun, was my gateway into Japanese culture and Kurosawa movies. Medieval 1 helped me understand the post-Roman, post-Charlamagne Holy Roman Empire. Rome 1 taught me to hate population growth and the squalor it brought :) Empire filled me in on the Hapsburgs.

I can’t believe it. I fell asleep to this video last night. It was so boring. Some cheesy cutscenes that sometimes manage to generate some awe and tension...which is then immediately deflated during the abrupt black loading screen you have to sit through before the game transitions to its next set piece. Why isn’t the

I was thinking the same thing. I don’t have a switch yet, so I don’t have this game yet, but this is a problem I’ve heard a lot about, and I also thought of Fire Emblem. What I recall is that a) the weapons broke, but it took what felt like a significant amount of use, 2-3 missions worth, to break them. Also, at

Why don’t they just mail out the badges? Why do they have to stand in a line to get a physical item that allows them to stand in another line to get in?

Man, if only EA hadn’t forced them to use an engine that wasn’t built for this kind of game, or if they’d assigned their A Team of Mass Effect veterans to make it rather than their B team of relative novices, or if they’d stuck with a single project lead and vision rather than the 3+ they ended up cycling through, or

First built in 1912, it was originally above ground, but all that changed when the new station opened in 1969. Now it’s 40 metres deep, and the only way to access the 2 platforms is by navigating several damp tunnels and their 290 steps.

Thanks, Andrew. I had been hung up on this version for a good while now. I was really irked about how long Honda was taking to give any hard details like price, 0-60, options, etc. I actually like the exterior, a lot. Maybe not that tailwing, but nearly everything else. But your review let a lot of the wind out of

I think it’s also because a lot of games these developers probably expected to be talking about were big disappointments. I mean, how much of Bethesda is left when you don’t have a new Elder Scrolls game, the last one is 6 years old, and Fallout 4 was a let down? Ubisoft is hurting from the disappointments that were

Man, I don’t know about the Anthem love. Yeah, it’s BioWare, but what does that mean anymore? It’s like the brand has been so watered down by being spread over too many totally-not-BioWare developers and so many of the core BW team leaving. Plus, nothing in this reveal even hinted at a good story, good quests,

I’m still not sure how they’re going to get to the suspension of disbelief. The previous games all happened where you could, without too much trouble, imagine a situation with no central authority powerful or willing enough to stamp out the chaotic situation you’re placed in.

Hi Jason,

Same with required minimum number of human players. Either allow teams to start a mission with less than the required number, or do what Rocket League does and swap in AI if you’ve been waiting more than x seconds.

The only thing there that is specifically targetted at girls is the bra reference. But of course it applies to trans folk too. Most straight boys won’t wear a bra. Everything else (including the cleavage one!) could apply to both genders.

I’m glad they’re doing this. Not sure how many more fixes are in the works, but it could go a long way to restoring some faith in the BioWare brand if the consumers can see that BW and EA are willing to pay for fixes for stuff that was clearly sub-par when compared to previous games. I know the extra work Creative

Man, that lead image makes me miss Sleeping Dogs so much.

Or, you know, just chill the fuck out. If you can’t, then you may have an anxiety disorder and should seek help. That much worry over something so trivial is no way to live.

Besides Builders, what’s the most recent numbered Dragon Quest that’s available in the US, and what platforms does it run on?
