Just reinstalled Win7 on a new HD, so I had to reinstall games too. So far I've re-installed...

1st person is more scary because, at least given our current tech, 1st person means no peripheral vision. Maybe if we all had excellent surround sound our ears could compensate for its loss, but we're not there yet.

okay, that makes sense.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (Monolith Productions/Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment)

Destiny (Bungie/Activision)

Hopson mentioned that Bungie didn't expect the random drops to be as big of a deal as they ended up being. What they were expecting was for players to simply buy better gear, and to have random drops act as the cherry on top, so to speak. Instead, players have latched onto the RNG, and it's affecting their perception

Considering that all you do at the Tower is interact with UI avatars, access your storage, and paint your armor, this is clearly a sign of terrible design. There is nothing you do at the tower (besides bump the soccer ball around) that couldn't be done much more efficiently through your standard UI.

Westwood (Command & Conquer) - Purchased by EA in 1998; shut down in 2003.

ah, you're right. The right side of the Steam controller matches the right side of the Wii U Pro

Well, let's think about this. Usually, if there are 2 thumbsticks, the left one moves your body around the map and the right one moves the camera around your body. Of the two of those, you're probably pushing the left stick more often than the right, and yet the sensitivity of the right stick is more important than

So, one more thing I'll have to add to my TO DO list as elected dictator of the US is 'fix patent law'.

Yeah, a 'speed up' button and unit veterancy would be cool additions. Veterancy is what teaches you to be careful with your units and not just spam them in clumps like Starcraft.

The way it works its narrative into the missions, the way you get audio feedback from distant units, the control scheme (which somehow nails movement in a 3D space), the user interface...it all works, and works almost perfectly, with a simple elegance that space games released over a decade later have yet to match.

Two bits of insight from someone who designs surveys:
