Will, who are the "First Cubs"? Are you ceding the division to us already?

So, the ability to say "You got a problem with that?" apparently counts as "dialect mastery" to the Sun-Times. Meanwhile, over in the Tribune, Mike Downey says that Carlos Mencia has played more gigs than Richard Pryor or Bill Hicks, which means he should automatically be worthy of election to the Comedy Hall of Fame.

Did ESPN exert its influence on him?

Will the grammar and spelling in the book at least have been checked prior to publication, unlike they were in that post?

God, that movie was so overrated.

I guess they feel the need to have black pundits talk about Obama, but Stephen A. Smith? Really, no one whose bailiwick is politics was available?

Did you just run a Google image search for "bubble" and then pick the scariest one?

@Civil_Negligence: My college's Latin motto actually featured the word "sunt."

At least he gets to be a success at something.

"Wow, I know Super Clean cleans, but it also scrubs? That's unreal!"

Incidentally, is this entire book written in first person plural? I might need more than a few drinks to get through that.

I thought the Scandanavian puns would be lame, but they're pretty good so far. Looks like Iceland corrected.

@Gourmet Spud: I believe his name was "Stephen Austinowitz" in the pilot.

DEADSPIN ERRATA

What's with the Michigan M on the goal posts? Are they pretending they're playing at the Big House?

Let's face it, how many blogs has Wilbon probably ever read? A half dozen? In essence he's doing the same thing he accuses blogs of doing - throwing out accusations and misinformation without actually doing the reporting. I like the guy generally, but he's totally in the wrong on this one.

@Gourmet Spud: He probably won't reply until at least May 1.

20 years ago, Will? Don't make me feel TOO old. More like 12 years ago.

@complicated wet dreams: I dunno, it was a little silly to see him with 13 completed passes for 95 yards at one point. I suppose he can "manage a game" but I would love the Bears to finally have a QB who can do more than that consistently.
