That's a tough call because the second one really was bad. It's been so long I wonder if you could skip the 2nd book altogether and it would still stand up. If you like the setting, might be worth a shot!

The Hellgate: London books were an interesting case study in video game novels. The first in the trilogy, Exodus, was released before the game came out. It was actually pretty great. Rich theme, action-packed and engrossing.

The in-game tutorial isn't all that useful. Just watch a couple good Let's Plays and dive right in. It's relatively easy to learn as you go. Start small, grow with the game. It's fantastic.

I'm the same. It only took a few days in the beta for the shine of mechs and parkour to wear off and reveal the average shooter underneath.

Yeah, the DM definitely has the most responsibility to make the campaign fun, and also the most power to destroy it. I was just pointing out new DM's need not fear that everything is resting on their shoulders.

If you've ever been a Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Master, you know that it's a weighty responsibility. The dice may help decide who wins and who loses, but you and you alone are responsible for everyone's fun.

Yep, that's the first tip I, of only a humble 14 years DM experience, would give.

You forgot to mention the terrors of static electricity.

Irsay even volunteered to undergo random drug testing. Said he was really looking forward to trying a new surprise pill each week.

Yet more validation for my "Never buy Early Access" policy.

I'm almost glad people got burned by this. It's a lesson to all the instant gratification, give-me-the-game-now gamers out there. Don't buy Early Access if you don't want to risk buying a shitty game. You could actually, *gasp*, wait for its release and some reviews?!

Yeah, definitely The Lost Vikings. Fantastic game.

I've been slowly going mad over the last few years trying to think of the name for a DOS game I played in probably the early 90s. It was a monster game, where you used a variety of stamps of eyes, mouths, bodies, ears, claws, etc. to make monsters on various backgrounds. You could then open up a little story page and

I assume #28 helped sell a lot of boxing gloves and wheelbarrows.

Exactly, Man U's quality of play has been so poor, they might as well be a third tier team for as much as they matter and warrant watching. They're not even playing in the Champion's League next season! Their fans should wake up and switch to supporting a club that actually knows how to play.

I just like the French song.

I'm so glad multiple people still give Billy shit over that post. Much deserved.

One of my finalist picks forfeited the tournament?! Shame, he was going all the way.

MSGed!

Sounds like it's time for a light switch rave. DOO DOO DIT DOO! DOO DOO DIT DOO!
