Keep an eye on it for Steam sales. Not too long ago you could have picked up the entire Tropico 4 collection for like $10.

Wow, talk about jumping into the deep end. I've always wanted to try TI, but I know it's just a bit too much for my gaming group.

The Cities & Knights Catan expansion has undergone a similar ban amongst my group for the same reason. The base game + other expansions are still a go, but Cities & Knights is blacklisted as a potentail friendship ender.
