I love Hanie Mohd's work. I first saw her over at Project Rooftop. If you like superhero design, go check it out, it's a great site.

You've got to be kidding. You think tragedies like this are worth it so you can keep your hobby?
I have had a few best friends who I truly feel in my heart were all simultaneously "best." Over the years, some have dropped the "best" title for various reasons - growing apart, one of them became also my girlfriend at the time ("best" survived the breakup, it didn't survive the moving on part), and one has actually…
I actually looked it up, it takes like 24 hours to sous-vide a pot roast...
"What's equally as silly is someone who doesn't understand that everything is toxic in the right dose" - I didn't deny this. You, however, haven't denied that alcohol is toxic at any dose. At the very cellular level, it has adverse effects.
People always mention that too much water can be toxic. Alcohol isn't the same. Alcohol is toxic at any dose. It's never good for you. It's always a poison, and that poisoning is why people like it. Yes, it's relatively safe if used responsibly. But not everyone does, and the main effect of taking it makes it harder…
I think that's apologizing for alcohol too much. The problem with saying "the dose is what matters" is that even a small dose is poisonous. A tiny bit of cocaine problem has little to no effect too. For either to have the desired effect, the dose is going to be large enough to do some damage.
So... the magic secret is to avoid cookies and candy? Crazy.
Amen. I've been a scout leader for 18 years, and a scout before that since I was 6. Our troop has never discriminated against any openly or suspected gay scouts, leaders, or atheists for that matter (the other half of the discrimination festival that gets ignored usually.)
Go barefoot. The bacteria that causes foot odor thrives in dark warm places, ie socks and shoes. I stopped wearing shoes about a year and a half ago and my feet, formerly bad enough to garner disgusted looks, don't smell like anything now.
Joseph Silver - Best inker in the biz right now.
I'm surprised to see all the negative comments. I thought this movie was brilliant. Wonderfully realized characters, gorgeous to look at, such a great example of a mother-daughter relationship, and I thought the story was very good.
I don't agree. Only time will tell on that one.
"And NOLO isn't?!" Nope, it isn't. Not at the level of New York City. NYC had over 5x the amount of tourists as NOLO, and that was a record breaking year for New Orleans, according to Nola.com. How many tv shows, movies, or even comics are set in NOLO vs NYC? NYC is second only to Orlando in tourism in the US, and…
Why no, I didn't realize. How silly of me.
That's a messed up story, and a messed up viewpoint from your former friend. I expressed nothing of the sort.
I can see offensive, but not ignorant. No one denies people died, or that lives are still being horribly affected. I was talking sheer amount of people affected, the impact on the broader cultural landscape, and the impact on the economy. Those aren't opinions, they're facts.
I never said that Sandy deserved more coverage, just why more people are up in arms. It's not fair, or right, but that's how it is. I'm truly sorry about how you've been marginalized, and let me be clear in that I've been a huge believer and loudmouth about climate change since before Katrina, and certainly after.
Ok, am I biased? Yeah, we all are. Frankly, Gawker media is mostly NYC based, so many of the articles are NYC centric, and I've noticed a backlash in the comments lately from people outside of NYC. So I suppose I knee jerked from that sentiment. Still, I think I have a point. The original comment I was replying to was…
