Oh yes. My ex's friends were all convinced that this was a common practice and would go on long rant-parties on the topic. You couldn't talk them out of the ridiculousness.

She was at first, but announced her pregnancy before filming began. I assume that they found someone else and waited for her to come back from break.

Thanks for the clarification - there are no Priscilla's in my area, so I was guessing on the basis of similar stores here.

Agreed! I've had almost no luck finding natural fibres this season, and it's really frustrating because I need to replace a number of pieces that have given up the ghost.

Side-stepping the meat of Understater's question completely (because I largely agree with the criticisms in your and others's replies)... I have a practical question for you.

Although it might be inappropriate in some environments, there is nothing inherently unprofessional about having children at work.

I have to agree with you. This isn't a necessity. It's also not one of the small luxuries that are social norms, and that everyone should have access to (a category that could arguably include things like graduation and wedding dresses, since both are integral parts of an important rite of passage as it is celebrated

Although I'm sure that most of these dresses are made in sweatshop conditions with cheap materials and that the money is largely for the brand/the store, it's entirely conceivable that a cost would cost that much if it was made in a country with a high cost of living and if the people making it were fairly compensated

For me that was actually a pleasant realization. Like, this isn't because of a failure on my part, it's just the shape of my body. It was accompanied by another realization, after I finally got around to buying glasses, that most women seem to have cellulite. So reassuring.

Although the model in this photograph seems very fit and obviously spends a lot of time body-building, her body shape is only one of the many shapes that fit people can take. Some people don't gain muscle mass easily, and can be extremely athletic while looking thin/fat, but not muscular.

Toddler question!

Interesting.... is this a common and socially accepted practice for online dating? Are there guidelines for what people usually talk about/avoid talking about?

As a sleep-deprived grad student, I share an office with a few equally sleep deprived women. We keep a yoga mat in the corner for this very purpose. Sometimes napping can't be avoided.

One more question about online dating: how long do you usually have before being expected to make up your mind about whether or not you are attracted to someone?

It's especially ridiculous when compared to diehard Christians that put their religious faith to good use...[www.npr.org]

Over-the-top and implausible stories... That sounds like an awesome solution for all of those indiscreet questions. I'll have to try to come up with some good ones!

Poor Rebecca Ferguson - it's impressive how over-the-top insensitive some people can be when commenting about eczema.

I recently developed eczema on and around my eyelids and mouth and some the reactions have been really shocking. Holiday celebrations have gotten me a series of interesting questions from distant relatives/family acquaintances. The answers, once and for all, are:

The empty stomach works! You can get drunk on a fraction of the alcohol, and the food will taste so much better later, once you are drunk.

Water is magic. I try to drink a couple of glasses before leaving, then alternate alcohol and water (one large glass between drinks), and top it all off with food and more water before bed. I am very well acquainted with the bathrooms in all of the pubs/bars that I frequent, but it really, really helps with the
