Meh, cut him loose. With the clothes and not getting out of the car, etc., I’d take that as lazy and/or clueless to being thoughtful. If he’s passive now, when the sparks should be lighting up the room...I’d just tell him there’s no chemistry and I’m not seeing a romantic future.

Good Lord. Why do you care? Jim sounds like a tool. All these people are way too up in each other’s business and seem fairly immature in general. Who needs all this angst when there are plenty of cool/interesting/smart folks out there who would make much better friends.
