Setting boundaries isn’t abandoning. You can’t be your best self if someone is draining you emotionally. You can still be a friend, and not be a therapist at the same time.

Do both? Look for a new position, see if you get pregnant? Give yourself a window of limited time on the job search and if something doesn’t come up in that timeframe, stay with current job? I dunno! For me folks like that are “Small Doses Only” Friends. IF you enjoy her company but the conversations are draining, try to do things that aren’t, have-dinner-and-catch-up. Go to movies or concerts, so you have her company for the experience but your not spending three hours on her Crazy.
