OH MY GOD I am panicking and laughing at the same time. Your poor grandma THAT IS ALL KINDS A WRONG.

Ah! Very good. Yep, agreed. She’s had a gilded life.

Funny you should say that - when I first adopted one of my cats I was told it was female, so the name was Bridget. Then a month or so later it became somewhat evident that ‘Bridget’ was not a gender-appropriate name.

Here’s Mr. Smith, appreciating a very expensive cat-friendly hotel during our first move to DC:

Probably true as far as it goes; but I would argue -

If you do get an invite, decline because you have plans. Pajamas + snacks + movie = Plans.

Solo Thanksgiving is my jam. Sometimes I go to dear friend’s houses, but never ever do I go to family - TG is my absolute favorite holiday, and I’ll be damned if I spend it with people I don’t like.

Of course you are pissed and scared, and it is not dumb or whining! Yes there are people with horrible diseases who are fighting for their lives. That has nothing to do with you or your kids or what you are going through.

As others said, it sounds like you need a therapist. When you say, “I don’t know how to talk”, that’s okay! You can still find someone to work with. Talking is not always the answer. Some folks need CBT more than talk therapy.

Well I guess it depends on what you want to accomplish.

I had that. You might have a vitamin D deficiency. If you have a high alcohol intake, or are developing osteopenia/osteoporosis, or even if you live in a place with very little sunlight (like Seattle), all those can compromise your D levels.

First, continually remind yourself why it is inadvisable/impossible (is he married? is he your boss? is he the Pope?)

I don’t see them. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I’ll be damned if I spend it with people I don’t like. I only go home for Christmas every other year - the other year is my xmas ‘off’.

I’m sorry. I lost both my kitties this summer - Noah at 18, and Mr. Smith at 16. It was incredibly difficult, but it was time. Miss them both every day.

He’s beautiful! And that is a great name - I had a cat (died this summer at 16) named Mr. Smith.

If he voted for trump, I’d say No. I’d even go so far as to say I consider that a character flaw.

He can stand up when he sees women being disrespected or harassed. We need more men to call out other men. It’s key to progress.

Do you have to go? Just don’t. I haven’t been home for Thanksgiving for a couple of decades because TDay is my absolute favorite holiday, and I refuse to spend it with my family.

I’m sorry. I lost both my kitties this summer - Noah at 18, and Mr. Smith at 16. It gets better. You were so lucky to have each other for so long.

That is a very serious cat!
