It kills the point of having an iPod. Your music travels with you not to you. Our wireless technology is not ready for this anyway.

If this is true, I'm losing respect for Apple. I don't see a point in a smaller iPhone. The battery would be smaller, not all of the apps will work, and you would have to buy iGlasses to read the text.

iPad 3 is too soon. Remember, Apple said that the iPad bridges the gap between the Mac and an iPod, so the iPad is neither a computer nor a pocket media device. If Apple released the iPad with the iPods, it would demise the iPad's concept. The fall announcement is probably something Mac related with Lion (hardware).
