Hey John, are you still being held hostage? If you’re okay and being treated well, please write “Myst is a masterpiece” so we know you’re allright.

What do you think the overlap in the Venn diagram is between video game players that talk about how difficult games shouldn’t have easy modes (and probably use cheese strata to get through said difficult games) and players complaining about skill based matchmaking that reveals they aren’t as good as they think.
“I’m not playing this game because I wanna bully people and it won’t let me” is so weak. WEAK.
Dying sucks, getting old is how you stick it to death.
have the impression that people in this industry especially in Japan are dying too young, just hope it isn’t related to their working culture making it extremely hard to grow old in the industry
They don’t ‘have to’. They want to make shareholders happy and they already cut their staffing to the bone. The only thing left is increased prices.
It’s a weirdly competitive environment since the writers produce so much material and stuff is being cut right up to airtime. You either produce or you wash out which means everyone has to look out for themselves as well as try to put on a good show and theoretically get along with their co-workers. Utterly hellish.
The three writers from SNL i’ve spoken to about it are deeply marked and traumatized by the experience even 25, 30 years later. Bitter, apologetic, then usually backtracking and blaming themselves for other people’s horrors.
If you’ll permit me to get personal for a moment, I work in the arts (as a graphic designer) and it became really clear to me that my own anxiety and struggles with mental health mean I’ll likely never do what this industry considers great work. Doing design work at a major firm is unbelievably demanding and I’m…
not going to fault someone for not feeling forced to have to work at a place that makes them miserable, and being able to step away. that’s not her issue, that’s capitalism and wage forced labour, so good for her for quitting.
My old roommate was a stagehand on SNL and that's absolutely true. It's insane hours. I had a similarly demanding job and the time and I completely agree with you, we have to stop making people seem so great because they sacrifice everything else in their life for art or money or whatever the fuck.
If you ever hear Conan O Brien (or even Bill Hader) talk about working on SNL, it sounds really brutal. Conan specifically has said repeatedly that he has a love hate relationship with it, as the work itself he’s very proud of and he had a lot of fun, but that he was constantly near panic and the pace of the show…
I actually love the Telltale series, I liked the idea of Bruce and Batman as being two separate people and not one being a facade. Also it allowed an actual relationship with Catwoman and you could retire as Batman. Good series, especially season 2.
“My super low-low prices are the real crime here!”
No, no, you got it right the first time!
Yes. This is why Ferraris can’t be customized in some games. An early example is how Ferraris and the Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR could not be driven in Hot Pursuit mode in NFS 3. It even spreads to less high-end manufacturers — you couldn’t put custom liveries on Nissans in Driveclub, for example. Some brands even enjoy…
Yes. This is exactly how it works. You pay for the right to use a carefully managed and curated image of the product.
