I keep asking this as it’s the root of the conflict over a ‘living wage’.

Anyone who thinks that increasing the minimum wage won’t eventually result in an increase in the price of goods and services is just fooling themselves.

I’m fascinated how those who have never made a payroll, nor operated a business have the illusion that artificially raising a wage, which in turn has a direct impact on profits (which for the socialist in the group who failed to take an economics course in high school is how employers pay you) and degrade the ability

What minimum wage job requires a college degree? That would be a horribly difficult job to fill.

So someone who owns a restaurant to pay their own bills is doing this out of spite?, what so they can go fight for the $13 working for someone else?

I do agree that this article is poor documentation but it is actually proving my point that the raising of minimum wage can all too easily lead to the loss of jobs and entire businesses. You would think that someone whos words seem really anti rich billionares and the companies they own/run wouldnt be for a minimum

Disagree, there is very much an applicable ‘but’ involved in wages.

lol, you’re adorable. When you automatically label someone who disagrees with you as someone who gets their news from Fox I’m going to have to stop right there because you’re clearly not worth any amount of discussion. Some fun facts though, I don’t get any of my news from Fox because they do not produce news and I

how about “If you can’t convince someone to pay you $14 an hour without getting the government involved, then maybe your services are not worth and you do not deserve $14 per hour”

Businesses innovating and reducing expenses is predatory? That’s news to me. You do realize we have been innovating for all of human history, creating things that destroy jobs yet we somehow continue to create new ones? If everyone kept obsolete jobs just to keep them we wouldn’t live in anywhere near the level of

No one demands a college degree to scoop rice and if someone has a college degree and they choose to scoop rice in CA instead of going elsewhere and being successful then they are an idiot.

This very article is citing the loss of entire businesses due to the minimum wage increase i would say that’s pretty well documented and obviously if a business is gone everyone who worked there is out of a job.

Your examples all seem to be talking about federal minimum wage increases not leading to job losses but i

Sorry but when the minimum wage goes up my boss doesn’t call me up and raise my wage as well so its not completely across the board. Its a raise for those making minimum. Also minimum wage on a local scale doesn’t effect things from outside the area.

“Everybody deserves a living wage. “

This is absolutely false, everyone deserve a right to peruse a living wage paying job but the fact is not all jobs can pay a living wage when living wages are so high.

Thousands of every day jobs are low skill/education positions that nearly anyone can do and they just plain aren’t

Keep this headline. Stadia’s going to need it.

I’d also buy insurance from Dennis Haysbert. He’s very soothing, and a former President of the United States.

I’d add that the woman seems to absolutely love a giant pick-up truck that she obviously “needs” for trips to her yoga classes or book club and will freak out if the cargo bed gets dirty.

OMG, I forgot about the Brooklyn iPad girl. Never have I wanted a kid to get hit by a bus more.

It’s the monthly subscription that really gets to me; the whole notion of adding “...as a service,” and tacking on a monthly fee.

DJ Quik is just HIGHLY slept on in general, especially producer wise. Dude always had some fire out in the 90s. And his instrumental interludes that he used to put on all his albums are straight classics.
