That’s a very strange way to put it.  A better thing to talk about is the theory of zones of proximal development, though not just for physically, developing learners.  We like things that aren’t too easy and not too tough, and puzzles are fun.  Not because we like pain.  Don’t conflate something critically

Read this as Stranger Things at first and was very confused yet amazed.

Imagine a world where you didn’t feel the need to jump aimlessly into a conversation you didn’t like.

Imagine a world where you’d get equally pissed about Groundskeeper Willie.

You mean if Bart was 10 when the first episode aired and he aged a year appropriately after? Yes, he’d be middle aged. But if you mean his age in the show, then no, he’s always been a kid.

Surprised they already haven’t.

10 x 17 x 9 x 12 x 10 = 183,600

Okay.

I and other players prefer a limited pool. Fewer options take the incentive to spend time pining over that aspect of appearance. I’d prefer more games take that approach instead of giving so much control. It also means people can’t make goofy characters that break immersion.

The trailer seemed fine to me, but watch any longplay series on it and the first couple hours mainly take place in the main hub, without any real guidance going forward.  It’s a game I still feel I should get into and like even after trying it twice now but it just doesn’t make sense.

I’m glad you posted this. I recently, just yesterday, had this experience with Divinity: Original Sin. I bought the first title because II has been hyped up and praised even long after its release. It has great art, great design, and almost everything I thought I was looking for.

Why?

Your view seems to subtly affirm Early Access and letting companies release unfinished games, though.  Things have shifted quite a bit if defending these practices are just embedded in daily expectations.

He’s a very memorable character but honestly, his inclusion was so bad.  His character doesn’t make any sense, even in a world where items in one box appear in another.  There’s no backstory, no explanation, and the series should have been better than that.  Then again, 4 did mark its decline, so this seems

All hyperbole is overblown.

We know. We’re saying it’s wrong.

Can we acknowledge how there’s an entire article dedicated to distancing a player from the blue collar job of driving a bus, as if we’re starting a new caste system or something? Lots of quotes dedicated to not being someone who would even consider doing that.

We sure it’s not a day drive in a thick forest? That would be my guess. But it reminds me of the feeling I get looking at the box art for Secret of Mana.

You could write it either way. Good if you’re Brigitte, bad if you’re everyone else. I was drawing a distinction-yet-similarity, or whatever you want to call it.

Hair and beards, yes.  Must be a cultural thing.  Not really a big deal to me personally but I wouldn’t be caught doing it in anything but a warm situation - not just randomly in public.
