Each state makes their own rules about voting. Here in Maine they do it town by town based on population. Some of the little townships don’t start until 10 am, for instance, but most are by 8 am.

Don’t know what state you are in but in Maine they do not all open at the same time. They all have to close at 8 pm but some open at 6 am, some open at 7 am, and some open at 8.

We do have early voting here...it seems to work well. 

As I said in my post, I recognize that I am lucky in that I can easily vote in person. Which is why I think both would be good. There should be many ways for people to vote so they can choose which works best for them. 

Counterpoint: I like voting on election day. I like the camaraderie, I don’t mind the lines. PLUS the sweet old ladies at the Historical Society are usually running a bake sale.

Mainer here, about 45 min southwest of Portland in a tiny ass town. I’ve never seen a line to vote, not for any election and certainly not midterms. In 2016 you maybe had to wait an extra sec to get to the person to get your ballot but that was it. Always open polling booths.

The term exists because of why the killing is being done. But you’re right that we should maybe stop delineating it when it’s really just more violence done against women for control. Domestic violence murders it is.
