Most of what you see everyday is Pozidrive or some other derivative Philips bit.
Light flashing is most often needed in these parts to warn about moose/deer/livestock attempting to become road pizza
I think it is all a matter of what you choose to daily drive and who you bring with you. I'm sure any 'recipe' these ladies use will be just fine.
