I actually come from a Middle Eastern background and I think that it is okay to criticize these cultures as long as the girl's/woman's best interest is at heart and it's not some veiled form of xenophobia or racism (I've seen/read the arguments of some conservative Westerners who talk about the how awful they think

First off, I believe in equal rights for both women and people who identify as lgbtqi and I get what you're saying in that the two groups can and do overlap. However, these people arguing against women's equality because it might 'help the gays' as they say are still being illogical. You don't hear these nations

Yeah, the article talks about it being the 'Stand Your Ground' law. But couldn't the same apply in that a woman can argue she was fearing for her life (with kicks to the stomach, being forced to take drugs) whether she is pregnant or not? Wouldn't those types of attacks regardless of pregnancy be enough to argue she

I didn't think you agreed with the law either and you're right; we should attempt to understand laws as best we can so we know what we're agreeing/disagreeing with. I guess I wanted to put it out there that regardless of whether someone is pregnant or not, the same kind of attacks (kicks in the abdomen, being forced

Yeah I figured that the stand your ground law would include the issue of whether an action is considered lethal (or potential to be lethal since it involves the whole 'perceived threat' issue). I guess the only attack on pregnant women we normally hear about (with the intent to end the pregnancy) is one of repeated

But something does not have to be lethal for a woman to still defend herself. If someone were to kick a pregnant woman's belly or even administer an abortion-inducing drug to her against her will, it would still be an assault on her body first and foremost for which she has a right to defend herself. To put it

And your definition of 'fact' is simply not what you think it means because whether you want to admit it or not, sex was not 'designed' for marriage. Sex predates the concept of marriage. More specifically, sex is a natural activity while marriage is a social construct.

Except that comprehensive sex education already teaches kids that it's okay to abstain, that no one should force or pressure them into having sex, and that they should wait until they are ready before becoming sexually active. Key word being 'ready', not 'marriage'.

To paraphrase another commenter - if there is no such thing as a gender pay gap as you keep saying, then what's your problem with a Bill that would allow people to discuss their salaries with their coworkers? Since everyone is already treated equally like you say, then you, the Republican party, and business owners

From what I'm seeing on my screen, the OP (@Fortaleza BR) made a comment which very clearly stated that some women were "begging for it". @Boatsandhobos responded to that comment by pointing out the problem with the language the OP used and the fact that it was akin to say that women are 'asking for it'. You then

But @Boatsandhobos was responding to @Fortaleza BR's comment that:

What the fuck does that mean? I understand that you're a troll who gets your kicks from riling people up but this isn't some discussion about the pressure on women to wear high heels or make-up, that although important discussions to be had, are not going to bring tears to a person's eye and cause flashbacks if some

An abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. A pregnancy cannot exist without implantation taking place.

Now playing

If you haven't already seen it, I recommend watching 'Alex reads Twilight' on Youtube. His summaries of each chapter are really funny and he mentions several times over that the writing is so bad (like basic grammar bad) that he can't believe it got published at all.

People are calling her dumb because according to her, a real leader has to wrestle bears and drill for oil.

Oh! Got away from you, huh? Well, you keep at it. (The learning that is, not the imagined propositions).

Nope, wrong again. Its a Simpsons reference. Look it up if you haven't seen the episode. Its quite a relevant quote to the way this conversation has panned out.

You know what? I have a ball. Perhaps you'd like to bounce it?

Something tells me that you would love for that to be the case and it probably kills you to know that that is not what is actually being taught.
