Probably because Shelby has a long standing with Ford and while Hennessy builds some kick ass cars, his reputation is a good bit less than stellar. Don't get me wrong, both companies have their issues, but Shelby already has their "foot in the door" so to speak.

What you say is true, BUT nitrous injection alone can cause fires like this and I have seen it happen. When you get a large nitrous backfire, sometimes it can and will destroy the intake and chunks of the destroyed intake can take out the fuel rails/lines, which leads to gasoline being sprayed all over the engine…
