The pics in the older ad - that claims it needs $20K+ in repairs - also show good panel gaps (actually, the older ad shows almost no damage at all), so I’m guessing what we’re worried about occurred underneath. Did it hang up on a curb or hit something big on the underside? We just don’t know...

There’s a similar engine sitting on eBay right now for $6450 (but has fewer miles than this car; not that eBay is always a reliable indicator of the parts market), so the engine is worth something - but not likely half the asking price.

I know what you mean: Some salvage titles are issues for reasons that don’t make sense.

I lived with an... unreliable starter for a period of time. I learned a number of tricks like always parking so that I have a gentle downhill incline available without pushing.

My problem with most luxury SUV-ish vehicles: They aren't used for what the design was originally intended (my definition includes at least off-road use and towing).

The price is a bit high - but I have some good Brat memories, and I always smile when I see one on the road (which isn't often these days).

That's the rattiest looking canopy I've seen anyone jump with (even before the obvious failures). Did they specifically use this - as part of a demo of recovery techniques? There must be more to the story here...

I voted "NP" yesterday - and this one today seems to head down the same path.

Big, powerful. Rare enough to be interesting; not so rare that it's impossible to get parts. Not cheap - but priced at the point of plausibility.
