Pretty a Death Note’sWhat If?”

Light was NEVER a fallen hero. He always saw murder as a means to an end. Before that he even tested it just for the hell of it. No one “good” does that.

Even if Light had good intentions at the beginning, he ceased being a hero in episode *2* when he killed an innocent man.

I love this idea, but it would also make Light a hero instead of a villain protagonist, which completely changes the tone.

That isn’t to say Death Note’s live-action movies in Japan were so great either.

In an attempt to streamline the process, Netflix announces they will be canceling the show two weeks before it premieres.

Tax write off.

Sure she does. When you’re the donor you call the shots. My alma mater has an alum that gave around $1 billion lifetime and his name is not on a single thing.

Aisha Tyler was only in nine episodes? Lauren Tom got seven, so it’s weird she was banished to the supporting sentence with actors who only showed up once.

Seriously. Naming it after herself? Fucking gross.

This is 100% “Here is some money, leave me the hell alone” donation. Its performative to the extreme. Hell, I actually remember watching its original run. When the show hired a black Friend there was an entire ET Segment before the show aired entitled and I’m not joking “The First Black Friend” and how it was such a

You know, if she had donated this money anonymously instead of getting a professorship named after her this wouldn’t look quite so much like an exercise in performative, self-aggrandizing “atonement.”

Please stop saying this. One single Friend had a large apartment, and it was explained as an illegal rent-controlled sublet from her grandmother.

Why did Friends get criticized more than other contemporary shows for lack of diversity?

I'm looking forward to seeing live action Mara in 4k HDR.

I wouldn’t mind a live version. Then again, I also very much enjoyed the Cowboy Bebop live action series on Netflix.. obvious flaws, but it had a lot of heart

Here’s a summary of what we saw of Wanda so far:

Holy shit, that interview about the picture book drove me nuts. It perfectly encapsulates my pet peeve about celebrity written picture books. They’ll go on highly publicized promo tours and talk about their writing process with ZERO mention of the illustrator of the book. a PICTURE book!

The fact that James Bond movies never have his name in the title, yet still somehow audiences figure out it’s a James Bond movie, has never seemed to have penetrated anyone’s skulls in Hollywood.

I don’t know why anyone’s surprised. Rian Johnson’s whole thing is taking something cliched and saying “But what if we did this instead?”
