Now you can understand how we feel waiting for your next cross country Beetle post. :)

I wish I could star this more. We’re outsiders and journalists love to write about the “death” of anything. They’re basing their articles on stats that have no relevance to those of us in the community.

I’m intrigued by the other suspicious pieces they’ve found... Maybe long-lost Kubelwagen bits? Templates for the widened Kommandeurwagen fenders? If they managed to uncover a bomb so close to the factory, I have to wonder if there are split-window shells or other parts kind of buried in the area...

With the bigger side windows, wouldn’t it be a ‘65-’66, though?

Bentley Speed 6?

Aha! That solves it. I honestly didn’t know. Thank you!

I know nothing more about Austin Americas than what’s in this article; but for some reason when I saw it from the side, maybe the proportion of the door, the slab-sidedness, the crease between the upper and lower halves, I thought “MG Midget”.

Thank you!

What is this magnificent thing? It looks like a Renault 4L from 2060! I WANT IT. Okay, maybe not the wide-whites, but still. This is clean, simple, beautiful, perfectly proportioned.

I think you’re onto something as how they’re related to Donks... that the Beetle in Brazil is still looked upon as an “everyone” car, where even the poorest families could have one... much like, say, a Caprice here in the US. But as ones’ income grows and one can afford a “better car”, they stay true to their roots

I can’t wait for a future of autonomous, self-aware cars that can do whatever they want. I’m sure it’ll turn out well.

It should be in a museum!

I understand the reference. Well done.

Option two, because if it turns out to be a country whose policies I disagree with, and said target is a woman, child or another innocent, I could say they swerved at the last second and I’d “miss”. Easily explainable.

I remember reading a review of an original Beetle in one of my old Brooklands collections of road tests that said something to this effect; that the reason VW owners love their cars is that they’re always driving flat out, all of the time... but the car simply doesn’t have enough power to break any laws... floor it,

Would they sell templates and/or kits for outside of Turkey for those of us with Beetles that want to go the luxo route? However, I’ve got a regular Beetle, so I’d have to just keep this in the glovebox...

As soon as I saw it, I thought “Grand Am”... I think the taillights/bumper lights/license plate combination kind of rings our bells as what this is, even if other cars may fit the same criteria. Grand Am just seems “right” to me.

Both Jesus and Beetles walk on water though... right?

In college in a dry county, I’d made friends with the neighborhood drug dealer (actually was a funny, intelligent guy. Had a stripper pole in his apartment. Girls would come over all the time and dance on it... anyway long story short he was cool). We lived in the same apartment complex. He didn’t have a car, and knew

If you notice, Baltimore is not reflected in dollars like the others. To be comfortable, you need 53,897 servings of lake trout or pit beef sandwiches.
