I found the first design of the Conti really refreshing when it was released. It quickly aged in my opinion though. That could be due partly to the frequency in which I saw them.

Your point is just as valid though. I forget that inspections are a lot more stringent in other states. Hell, outside of metro-Atlanta, you can register anything with wheels. Emissions compliance is non-compulsory.

State Inspections don’t always mean the same thing. In Georgia, you can register anything that passes an OBD-II emissions test as well as visual inspection. They don’t look at the car’s integrity in any capacity other than that.

I would think it’s more for sound than overall performance.

I’ve had two C4 Corvettes (Well I guess I still own one.) and the cupholders are deplorable. They’re the diameter of a typical 12oz can and about 1-1/2" deep. OH and if you drive a stick shift car like I do, 5th, 6th, and Reverse ALL intrude on that space.
I bought these at Advance and tucked them under the console…

As part of the Corvette community (Admittedly the C4 community) I can attest to this absolute nonsense.
