On femininity and China: Lookism can be really bad there. I consider myself pretty above average in terms of looks, but I don't know if a woman who looked like me could get some jobs in mainland China. And I don't mean modelling/acting jobs.

@BeetsGoOn: Well, it depends on the part of China. In Hong Kong (if you can really consider HK, "China"), you see a lot of high powered women succeeding and "breaking the glass ceiling" if you will. These women aren't just unmarried and child-free but also those with families. However, they are successful in the

For the most part, the only "real" people I constantly communicate with on Twitter are others in the petite blogging community. Once in a while, I will speak with followers from the general lifestyle/fashion areas as well, but for the most part, I use Twitter to share posts (both mine and other people's) or to share

@Kenyakarma: I knew an Alex who dated another Alex. We called them Alex-Girl and Alex-Boy. I also know of an Erin who went out with Aaron.

I was a little disappointed with Paul McCartney's performance. :(

@kungfutoday: If your mother-in-law weighed herself daily, why on EARTH did she serve the kids soda - diet or otherwise? If she truly cared about what she ate, wouldn't the drink of choice be water? Of course, this is coming from someone who lived in a no-pop (soda) home and the only juice I got was diluted with

@la.donna.pietra: Other brands owned by Estee Lauder have used non-white faces before

@lolita7b3: Or when they use non-white models, it's usually someone who is of African descent. Outside of Asia, I rarely see East Asian or South Asian women in cosmetics ads unless they're actresses who've recently appeared in an internationally shown movie.

@fujii13: LOL....I thought that thing was lame back then...

Do these young women ummm, have "accomplishments" to attract husbands? It seems that many in these fundemental Christian movements don't have what *I* consider accomplishments (i.e. a decent education, which includes exposure to the fine arts and culture).

Ummm, the Queen's birth year was NOT 1986...

@English.Rose: What about legally? Would a "domestic partnership" in the UK be like a common law relationship in most Canadian provinces in terms of what one can and cannot get if a relationship breaks down (e.g. in Ontario, if the house is under one person's name, then it belongs to said person if the relationship

Is a "domestic partnership" like a common law marriage (in Ontario, a couple is considered "legal" after a few years of living together)? No licence for marriage or "ceremony" needed.

Jonathan Larson's people must really be desparate for money to license the song out to Macy's. I also bet that a lot of people who aren't interested in Broadway won't even know that this is from Rent. The general public isn't as "exposed" to things as we like to think.

I think I might havem issed something, but is Diddy in some sort of "band" now? Cuz it sucks.

Sad to see Britney look like that. 29 year olds should still look vibrant. :(

In elementary school, I was told by one girl I was "too small" to play with her. It only got worse as I got older and everyone grew taller.

Technically, casting people "can" be discriminatory. I mean, you're not going to be looking for teenage boys in a dining hall crowd scene taking place at a girls-only boarding school. Of course, the casting call would specifically say "females who can play 12-18" or something along those lines. You're probably only

Am I the only person here who won't eat pineapples unless they're hot (i.e. grilled or on pizza)?

I think some people don't like certain foods because they have really strong tastebuds. I know a girl who won't eat most green veggies unless it was covered with cheese or garlic because she thinks they're more bitter than say, mushrooms or carrots. Others don't eat some foods because they haven't been exposed
