My high school does a formal reunion weekend every fall, which includes an open house and sporting events (think Homecoming Weekend, but at a girls' school, so no football). The Friday night is always a chapel service, followed by a "cocktail supper" which means appetizers, carving stations and pasta bars. At my 10

@murasaki: I wasn't the only person who mentioned height here.

Wow, Ireland is still very Catholic (they still don't have legalized abortions, right?) yet this...

@murasaki: Have you SEEN what they have in the petite department? Other than the Three Friendly Petite Brands (aka Ann Taylor (including LOFT), Banana Republic and J.Crew) and some unknown, petite-focused designers, the petite deparment tends not to offer much which would interest women under 45 or 50. And even with

I lived in a women-only dorm for three years and the only time a man was allowed to be a "don" (what we call our RAs) was if he was married to a woman who was also a don in the same building. They also get to have a really cool suite with a kitchen rather than a standard room. I don't think he'd be assigned to a

Want to have hot boobs? Just get a bra that actually fits you properly!

@Aurora85: But "cute" and "adorable" isn't exactly what many of us WANT to be.

@hej516: Hemming doesn't always work because of proportion. Also, what do we do about tops? Can't really change the length of that without reconstruction!

@NikkiBee: Yeah, but tailors can't do much about tops (and at times, pants) without reconstruction. Also, most petites are proportionate when it comes to petite sizes, yet most lines with petite sizes never outwardly advertise that they have them. Places like J.Crew, Banana Republic and Ann Taylor really should note

Hey Tavi,

@Praxid: I agree. The adjective used to describe attractive women who're short is usually "cute" (unless you're really busty and curvy). "Cute" is also used to describe children and pets. Something is wrong here, don't you think?

@reenelk: But they don't carry a fetus for nine months.

@TenaciousLee: But the Figleaves method adds 4 or 5 inches to the underbust measurement. A lot of people have found that this doesn't work as it sizes them up a band and down a cup.

@LilyBriscoe: My issue with Secrets is that they don't carry much in the 30 band sizes (compared to their more "regular" sizes). They said I was 30B, but made me try several 32As because many of the 30Bs were out of stock or non-existent in that brand/line!

@SallySassyPants: Yeah, but camis make one's already teeny boobs disappear even more!

@KayKins: Not really. 34B and 32C are "sister sizes" - the 34B and 32C cups are technically the same size, but the band is smaller.

@Lipstickiller: It's also nearly impossible to find bras in band sizes smaller than 32!

The Little Bra Company is also a great place for those who need petite bras. Unlike Lula Lu (which sells some TLBC bras), they have more choices for those who aren't A cups (or smaller) as well as smaller band sizes (28s and 30s). Petite bras also don't come in anything larger than a B cup.
