I think NBC should get rid of the Tonight Show name when Jay takes the 11:35 slot back. It just doesn't feel right otherwise (not that it's right to give Jay the time back anyway).

@Evie Havok: I'm not white, and the the girl on the cover of Aspirations is a white, blonde girl. Though the lead character is implied to be white (and yes, I saw her as white when I wrote the book), nowhere did I say that she is a blonde. As soon as they hear "sorority", "country club" and "prep school alumna,"

@RenoMartini: Episcopalians may be disqualified because they're too "Catholic-lite"

I think the dad is right not to give her the money. The girl was supposed to graduate EIGHT YEARS AGO. If she graduated ON TIME, she would have a job and enough money to pay rent and/or spend.

Tess, parents don't believe in crazy FB groups like that. Besides, it's their job to ground you. If they let you go because of the FB group, they're not doing their job.

@PoisonPixie: Try Bella Petite magazine :) They're even doing a model search for short girls.

@paperispatient: But do they make something "special" for celebs like Rachel Bilson or Eva Longoria? Or, do they pin things up so it wouldn't look too long?

Half depleted by age 15? Does that mean that the eggs start dying off before a girl even has her first period? At 15, you've probably had like 30-40 periods, right?

@dismantledwoman: If she has a 31" waist, then it's very unlikely she's a size 8, unless a brand really vanity sizes (and carries a 000). 31" waists are usually size 12 or 14 according to size charts.

@rednrowdy: If the typical Hollywood actress were proportionately as thin as runway models, then wardrobe will have A LOT MORE WORK TO DO in terms of fit. The typical actress is a good five inches shorter than the typical model.

@tunamelt: I don't buy expensive clothes, but I know that what I call mid-range brands (Banana Republic, J.Crew, etc) are usually consistent with their sizing, in my experience.

@Highsmith: But maybe the X chromosome will start evolving midway, meaning that the Y will NEVER catch up.

@labeled: I feel that here at Jezebel, there seems to be only ONE VIEW of minorities, and that view usually applies to the stereotypical Latino or black and their experiences of poverty. This doesn't apply to everyone. I cannot give you a "WOC" perspective of Precious, because I am also looking from the outside in.

@labeled: You make it sound like all WOC are black or identify with black struggles. Not so. Non-African-American blacks also do not necessarily identify either, either.

In terms of culture-oriented treatment, things can get a little dangerous with children of immigrants. Because of their exposure to American cultures, they're probably somewhere in between the old world and the new. It could be that neither methods work.

@rhoswhen: Mostly in Asia. It's rare here in Canada - and the ones who do are either tourists or immigrants. I've never seen a foreign student wear a mask.

@cowboydan: I don't know about South Korea, but a lot of people in Hong Kong wear masks if they have a cold. They've been paranoid about giving other people diseases since SARS in 2003. My fiance and I thought that it was really weird, especially after seeing an ENTIRE FAMILY (mom, dad, little 2 year old tot in a

I cannot squat like the woman in the back. I think I might have to give my Asian card back.

They apparently did that here in Toronto yesterday as well.

@Erda: Yes and no. According to Wikipedia, the German Army was dissolved by the Allies after WWII, but a force was formed in 1955. East Germany had a socialist military of its own and absorbed the West German military after unification in 1990. Today, they're part of a multinational force.
