When my son was little he planted some sunflower seeds. They grew very tall and beautiful. One morning we got up and ALL the flower heads had been removed. Amazon Prime isn't about discounts, it's about free shipping. You still have stop shop for the best price, watch for specials, etc. Prime just gives you more options IF you can make up the yearly fee with shopping or streaming video.
