But are you really going to try and prove your point by using the term a college student came up with to describe acquaintances on the program he created in order for everyone at his college to be able to know who everyone was and plan parties?

Exactly. Memorials, funerals, etc ARE for the living. The people who have to deal with the loss of someone who had an impact on their lives.

Good for you. I'm the exact opposite. My FRIENDS are people I don't need to use Facebook to contact. I call them on the phone, or hang out in person with. I use Facebook as a way to keep in touch with acquaintances or old friends that I don't really do anything with and have no other way to contact.
