No, I feel similar discomfort dispite my strong dislike for the whole family.

I’m in the grey and this post is a few days old so I’m mostly shouting in the void but here’s what drives me crazy about this attack — LGBT activists have been attacking the HRC for at least a decade. The thing you’ll hear most often is that they’re a group that’s mostly rich and white gays who spend more time putting

Okay, in discussing The X-Files pay gap, Katherine Trendacosta makes my point for me a lot better:

From what I hear The Martian is beautifully diverse but it probably didn’t come easy. They are helped that it’s based on a book with a diverse cast but I understand some of the characters ethnicties are changed to maintain diversity, that requires that someone track those changes. Nonwhite actors have repeatedly

Part of the protest is the idea that the Academy includes a lot of people who greenlight movies and decide if there will be good roles for PoC actors.

As I recall, there was a study in the 80s that said that non-porn movies that depict a “rapemance” (to take the term from soap fandom — “The Getaway*” was the movie specified by the study) are more damaging than porn that depicts two people enjoying sex together.

Yeah, I’m an outsider to straight porn. Most of what I know comes from discussions of straight porn but gay porn is a topic I know.

Looking at her IMDb page, she doesn’t get a lot of acting work. She’s currently got a voice acting job and there was that short-lived ABC Family sitcom but it looks like she doesn’t get a lot of acting work.

Okay, the Patrice O’Neal jokes are suspicious. That may be the first time I felt that way, but maybe that’s because I don’t want to think that kind of misogynistic viewpoint is common.

I just remember Joe Rogan leading a big comedian pile-on against Ant. Since I don’t like Ant, I was ready to get outraged... and then it turned out they were claiming Ant stole a joke about how we’d build a border wall to keep out undocumented immigrants with cheap labor from undocumented immigrants.

So this is the site Bravo decides it wants to have after killing Television without Pity.

Interestingly, I understand San Francisco’s plastic bag ban has been revised so that plastic bags that are thicker and more durable (and therefore “reusable”) are now allowed. I didn’t check if the added expense kept major grocery stores from returning to plastic bags, so I’m curious about that.

You city’s plastic bag ban includes produce bags? When I’ve lived in cities with plastic bag bans, they usually only applied to the bags you use to carry your food home, not the ones you put fruits & veggies. (Which meant I still had to save those things and carry them back to the store for recycling.)

It seems like all of the progressive organizations that allow their members to vote for who to endorse pick Bernie, while the ones that don’t pick Hillary.

Eh, go to a politically aware gay blog and ask how much they care about the HRC. They’re largely hated as a group of out-of-touch Beltway insiders who know how to throw a fancy fundraiser but don’t know shit about turning that money into actual victories. When shit gets done for the GRSM community, it wasn’t because

I don’t see a picking apart his words as much as pointing out that he doesn’t live up to how he says Hollywood should work. He’s part of the problem he’s criticizing and he’s a chance for him to realize he can be part of the solution.

I saw an animated Boxcar Children movie on Netflix. I got excited at first because I loved those books but then I saw the art, which was kinda creepy.

Wasn’t there a Murder She Wrote sequel in the works with Octavia Spencer? (IIRC Jessica Fletcher still existed in this version, Spencer would be a new sleuth, except she didn’t start writing until after she solved her first murder.) I think they didn’t get to the point where the filmed a pilot. That’s too bad because

A year ago I couldn’t imagine recommending Celebrity Wife Swap but they’ve gotten better casting lately including an episode last season where Cloris Leachman and Pia Zadora switched lives. It was amazing.

Sheesh I didn’t even think of that. I wondered if it was possible for water filters to make the wter safe to drink, I didn’t think about having to filter your bath water. (Even though I do remember seeing people talk about knowing something was wrong with the water because of how it felt on their skin.) Wow.
