i used 8 from the start, and i like most of the 8.1 changes a lot. I wouldnt go back to 7 at all, and i dont even have touch devices. 8.1 still has quirks i dont care for, but honestly, i only very rarely run into them. im keeping it, i have zero desire to use the start menu, as i had zero desire to use it in windows

I am similar. After the first couple days, I was set. Especially when Microsoft added in the Start Screen being able to have your wallpaper instead of their pre-defined ones, without using a third-party program.

I completely agree, at first it was a change but now I prefer the overlay start menu. I use Ubuntu with Gnome Shell that has the same kind of overlay. It is far more navigable than folders.

in the iPone app, "star" each file and it will cache it locally on the device. You can do this quickly for multiple files. Then, when you want to transfer them to other apps, it will go much quicker since they're already local.

So far, using Dropbox has worked fine for me.
