Thanks for the write-up on this. I had heard somewhere that the Mclaren engines were Nissan-based, but not that the V8 was from the R390. Surprisingly, heretofore it’s been a little difficult to divine the pedigree of this engine/design, and this article sums it up nicely.

This is great to learn, actually. I don’t think I’ve ever heard it. I drove a 570s and it just feels like it’s not fair that it is that quick!
