Actually here’s a better photo - those RM catalog shots did the paint color on F1 073 zero favors.

Yes, that’s better. Just trying my best to stifle the misinformation that circulates on that car and the actual F1 LMs. :)
It’s not a tinted clearcoat - it is special translucent paint.
One of them which McLaren Atlanta are delivering is similar to this car from Beverly Hills with blue carbon. Instead of a bare carbon stripe down the center it has a stripe that was painted solid red with white outlines. There’s also no gold accenting - the wheels are the 20-spoke LT Spider wheel, finished in silver.
I…
You have likely been mislead by the clever marketing of RM-Sotheby’s. The F1 they sold in their 2015 Pinnacle Portfolio auction in Monterey for $13.75M was not an actual F1 LM. Instead it was an F1 road car (chassis 073), which like the 675LT Spider Carbon Series in this video, had been loaded up with just about every…
In California, unless the plate is personalized, it transfers with the vehicle when sold the majority of the time. Having the seller say the tags are current might save you a bit on registration depending how many months remain.
My friend in Phoenix is Uber’ing with a Tahoe PPV - he just had to take the brush bar and spotlight off of it.
He was a gentleman, a pioneer, a brilliant writer, a force to be reckoned with, a thrill seeker and really a national treasure - he was Brock Yates.
Please enjoy my photo from the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours of the actual Ferrari Daytona (s/n 14271) that he and Dan Gurney piloted to victory during the first ever…
Here’s another one for you: Perception ≠ Reality
This is supposed to be “journalism” - the article unfortunately fails to rise to that level and I’m pretty sure a correction is not forthcoming.
Yes, the visible carbon body is an MSO option that will set you back about $250K. You do get to keep the car’s original painted bodywork for a nice display, perhaps.
This is not an “extra” P1 - this is a car owned from new for quite a while, and originally wore a Volcano Orange painted body which has now been replaced by MSO with this new Orange-tinted visible carbon body at the owner’s request. For those who pay close attention, this is the “CALL SAUL” plated P1.
Here’s a previous…
Apparently Orange + Ignorance = Brown as well. ;)
Dear Jalopnik-
Most likely someone leaned on it for a photo and bent it - these mockups are made to look pretty but not to be touched.
Clarifying one important point - the cars that appear on Ocean Avenue in Carmel on the Thursday before the Concours are those taking part in the Pebble Tour - on average probably 60-75% of the entrants of Sunday’s event so it is not accurate to state:
“...you can see all of the prestigious Pebble Beach cars without…
Any evidence of the white Evans 250 GTO? I know he had a number of Ferraris resprayed in white including a 288 GTO, but haven’t ever seen the 250 GTO associated with him.
Jon Shirley has recently had his 250 GTO but it was how the car was delivered and raced from 1962 to 1966.
Wow... I will alert Elon immediately that he needs to add small print for people like you.
How about a refresher...
You: “They still don’t have an actual production model for the Model 3"
Me: “Pretty clear from this statement that you don’t understand at all how vehicle development progresses.”
They are at least a year away from commencing production - could that be the reason?
You obviously have an agenda here as your reply isn’t at all relevant to my comment and does not bolster your original statement in any way.
Pretty clear from this statement that you don’t understand at all how vehicle development progresses.
