I’d also point out that it wasn’t until fairly recently (2000's sometime) that an officer of the PPB was indicted for murder for shooting anyone while on duty _for the first time_- about/over 100 years after they started policing the city.

The more interesting question is why would this matter... most people don’t get but maybe half the federal holidays off & the low-wage, 2-&3-job people who should be the ones to benefit from a day off to vote wouldn’t likely get that day off anyway.
