I just finished watching the Patagonia Special and I am craving new episodes of Top Gear. I've actually been watching all of the episodes on Netflix starting from episode one.
No different to losing flight control cables. Structurally the F-16 is far stronger than most people would think. I know, I beat on them for many years.
It is very common for the F-16 canopy to survive intact after an ejection. I had my name on one. That plastic is ridiculously strong, but also flexible enough to absorb the impact of dropping out of the sky.
