Little 3.5t cabovers like the Isuzu Grafter are really popular in the UK of late. A lot of tradesmen are choosing these over the likes of the Transit flat bed.

A little bit out of date there. Rover shut up shop in 2005.......

I love it. The perfect rival for the (still to be released and rediculously expensive) Morris JE......

It was never called the Tiburon in the UK, just the Hyundai Coupé (note the accent on the e) leaving us in no doubt as to what the car was. The first time I heard of it being called a Tiburon it seemed really odd.

Yeah, Spiro would have to rename it here in the UK....

Best of luck if you want one for a few hundred quid. They rust so badly, most of the early ones have now been scrapped. Even the later models are pretty crusty.

I've always called it a Kaaa.

Barry Sheene raced trucks quite a bit back in the day, driving for DAF in the British championship for a few years in the 80s.

AC Invacar and AC Cobra......

I’ve always seen crossovers as being FWD fake off-roaders, at least here in the UK. Jacked up hatchbacks with body cladding pretending to be what they’re not. The first Brit to do such a thing was the 2003 Rover Streetwise which failed for being designed way before it’s time......

I’m going to make my second submission with the Bedford Green Goddess. Procured in the early 50s as a contingency water pumper for post nuclear attack, these were stored around the UK in their thousands, only coming out to play in the hands of the military during the times the fire brigade went on strike, first in the

I had a mk4 1.8 Sport when I was in training at RAF Cosford. Stuck a K&N on it one weekend and was promptly pulled by the RAF Police because of the noise it made around camp! Good car though, nice looks and drove well.

At the tender age of 18, I bought a Mk2 Astra SRi. I absolutely loved that car until it was predictably stolen and written off. The Mk2 Astra and it’s booted sibling the Belmont were a huge part of British road culture in the 80s and 90s and although you guys knew them as POS Korean built Pontiacs, our UK built

I’ll add the Mazda MPV to that....

You forgot the family man’s wedge. The Austin Princess.....

This “European” says ‘mileage’. Because I’m also a Brit and we don’t do poncy Kms!

The Scirocco GTX approves.....

I totally agree with this although a fine balance has to be found depending on the car body size. Case in point is this underwheeled horror that MG has pushed onto our roads.....

I’m looking forward to this but it seems our James is a little late to the party regarding Japan. If you can, watch this, ‘Our Guy In Japan’ with the excellent Guy Martin. Only 3 episodes long but a brilliant little series.
