Right, I’d be more prone to make jokes if the Browns hadn’t even gone deeper into “new idea” territory last season.

I’m sorry for being that guy, but Ozzie Newsome’s success is worth pointing out, just because it’s exhibit A that a former black player can be great at running a team.

I think it achieves synergy. Across the board.

Bulls. They would gladly trade any combination of players, including Butler, for Porzingis.

1. Why did you give away Jamie Collins?

Deadspin east-coast bias showing. Should have been Mr. Hero or a couple of cases of Great Lakes.

He was actually the Cavs owner. The pick ended up being the No. 1 overall, which the Lakers used on Worthy.

My favorite Patrick Stewart character.

Yeah, I thought that was overstating things a bit also.

I agree with you generally, and was going to make a similar point, until I realized it’s unlikely that CP will play for Riley after Riley let Wade go. Not impossible, but it hurts the cause, no matter Wade might say in public about everything being cool between them.

As a Browns fan, this is an amazing example of “user name checks out.”

Well writers are always objective and well informed, so it shouldn’t be a problem then.

Sorry, to clarify — DPOY already tends to go to two-way stars or dominant big men. I think the *perception* that the DPOY is *potentially* worth the same as the MVP or an All-NBA player will only reinforce that tendency.

In the abstract, yeah, it’s weird. I get people are saying “yeah, but this guy!” but in most of those example that guy was going to get paid anyway.

Depends on if the goal is to punish illegal contact, or discourage it altogether, right?

Yeah, I can’t ever remember a paper essentially taking out an editorial against a player like that.

I love the 41, because it’s like ‘Sheed just decided to get one every-other game.

Yep, this. You can’t say you want guys to stay put on the one hand, then do nothing to address the circumstances where Wade ends up leaving Miami because of cap space.
