I mean, games 2 and 3 were fun, as were some of the Cavs EC games, just because the teams were playing so balls out and everything was falling, but yeah, they weren’t particularly compelling.

The Finals were amazing.

“It was a given that Marvin (Barnes) would miss the 11 a.m shoot around in Kentucky. Once we got the itinerary for that trip and noticed that the flight was exactly one hour. Because of the change of time zones our return flight would leave Louisville at 8 am and arrive in St. Louis at 7:59.

Fair enough

But those “wins” didn’t really produce much that’s going to contribute anytime soon — Noel, Saric and two future picks likely to be late lottery — so they seem pretty hollow to me.

Because I’m tired of hearing the word “heist” applied to his trades. Joe Barry Carroll for Robert Parrish and Kevin McHale is a heist.

Winning 99-90 and 140-90 are both unequivocal wins, but they ain’t the same thing.

What you have to realize is that 11/8 changed everything.

I’m a Browns fan. I’m living through this — in a system where tanking makes much more sense because there’s no lottery — and I assure you the fanbase is not nearly as invested (though we are also probably even more scarred than Sixers fans).

Let’s not pretend he got Dame Lillard for Gerald Wallace or Kawhi Leonard for George Hill. “Winning the trade” is a very relative term.

and the segment that embraces him is LOUD and passionate about their man. And defensive. Oh so defensive.

I hate the Process and think it’s a bad bet, but I wouldn’t say he sucks at his job. Or, at least, that’s way oversimplifying things. He’s interesting in the same way as Nate Silver or Billy Beane — you can argue either side of their approach, and never be wrong.

Question: Is the power forward likely to sit out at least a season?

The ability of people like this to question everything, except whether they should be people like this, is always fascinating.

To be fair, when he signed they deal, they were coming off making the playoffs and even taking a game from Golden State, IIRC.

I forgot about the Payne deal. And the other factor is we have no idea how risk-averse Thibs as GM is.

They should trade next year’s No. 1 (with protection, if need be) for the best veteran(s) they can get. Bogut? Hayward? Bledsoe? Marcus Smart or Avery Bradley? Zach Randolph and Tony Allen? KCP and Harris or Morris?

Please do not give Ernie ideas.

I think it’s obvious that Thibs can only coach a team full of young talent if he can also incorporate Carlos Boozer in the mix.

For every guy that’s considered a failure because of AAU/leaving early/“never learning to play the right way” there are:
