Those sound like good ideas (though they may suffer from the “token POC problem that also gets flagged in movies). But apparently they aren’t the story the Coens wanted to tell. So we’re back to the question of who controls what movies get made and why, which is partly a question for the Coens to answer, but mostly

Ah, I see. The Coens should make up a story. And in that story, since they are free to invent any characters and any plotlines they want to, they should also feel free to do whatever they want with the general social and cultural setting in which the story occurs. And what they should want to do is to include at least

Actually they do. Which is why the presence of people like Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle excites (some) WWE fans so much.

I wasn’t referring to WWE’s description of itself, but to the Jezebel article text and the comments.

Was the Golden Age of Hollywood strong on people of color?

Ahem. Wrestling? Seriously, people are still pretending that this is wrestling and not athletic acting? There’s no doubt that these WWE folk work hard at what they do and some of them are better and some are worse, but wrestling? WWE has as much to do with wrestling as chick-fil-a has to to with french cooking.

You should try googling “Corbyn jokes” for equivalents pertaining to the recently chosen leader of the UK labor party. Pretty funny.

Then there’s the buddhist version: Life’s a bitch, and then you come back for more.

He didn’t say his life was hard.

That does depend on how and where the chips may fall.

But .... but ... I’m UNIQUE! Just like everybody else!

she was elegant as she forgot to mention that when she ran Hewlett-Packard

Invite 186 people to a party. A week before hand, when you start to need a clear idea of how many are coming, look at the evite status list. Knowing that there are still 28 people who haven’t even looked at the invite provides some information (I admit, I am not entirely sure what) that feeds into the assessment.

Err, evite.com has been doing this for some time. I find it quite useful to be able to see who hasn’t even looked at the invitation, who looked but didn’t respond, etc.

Hah. For years the young ‘uns ripped off our netflix password and let is loose among their friends. Now they pay for HBO and we get to reverse that “sharing”. Bwahahahahaha!

Sorry, but if I ask someone “Do you believe that people of African descent are naturally less intelligent that people of European descent?” it will have only one purpose: to mock and ridicule them, out in the open, for their unsupportable and racist views.

Is someone seriously suggesting that even asking this question is problematic? That in a “free” society, to even raise the question is wrong?
